The article highlights an interdisciplinary research project from the universities of Salzburg and Innsbruck, focusing on castle inventories as historical sources. It emphasizes the creation of a digital platform that will help the public explore the living conditions and social dynamics in late medieval and early modern castles. By analyzing texts from 130 inventories, researchers aim to illustrate how these documents are not mere lists but reflections of complex social relations and practices associated with castle life in historical Tyrol, Austria/Italy.
As we develop this digital platform, we aim to showcase how inventories of castles during the late medieval period can reveal complex social relations and living conditions.
