Former Jackson State Faculty Senate pres. sues college pres.
Briefly

Dawn McLin, a tenured associate professor and former Faculty Senate president at Jackson State University, is suing the university and its administrators for wrongful termination. Her lawsuit claims retaliation after she communicated a vote of no confidence against an associate provost. Despite the administrator's removal, she was reinstated shortly after, leading to alleged retaliatory actions by the university president. McLin argues she was denied adequate time and resources to prepare for her termination hearing and denied access to crucial defense documents, seeking damages for lost wages and other harms.
McLin alleges that JSU gave her only 10 days to prepare for a hearing, lacked access to needed resources, and didn’t share critical documents with her.
The suit states that the associate provost sought revenge after McLin expressed a no confidence vote, leading to a purportedly sham investigation into her.
