De Anza College qualified as one of 200 community colleges nationwide eligible to apply for the 2027 Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence. The biennial $1 million prize, awarded by the Aspen Institute, recognizes outstanding outcomes in student learning, degree and certificate completion, transfer and bachelor's attainment, workforce success, and equitable access. Eligibility emerged from a review of nearly 1,000 community colleges. De Anza previously made the initial selection in 2019, 2021 and 2023. College leadership emphasized dedication across faculty, staff, administrators and students and highlighted a culture of continuous improvement focused on equitable student achievement.
