Working through pain? You're not alone. - Harvard Gazette
Briefly

A study reveals that a substantial portion of the U.S. workforce faces functional limitations while meeting job requirements. Conducted by researchers at Harvard Medical School, the study utilized a Dutch tool to assess 97 job-related abilities, finding that three-fourths of the 3,396 surveyed adults reported at least one limitation. Upper-body strength and torso mobility are most commonly affected, along with environmental sensitivity and knee function. This new analysis portrays a more comprehensive view of American workers' health than previous measures.
Prior research finds that people in midlife are less healthy than people who are older now were at midlife. And it's even true that younger people are less healthy than the midlife people were when they were younger.
We haven't seen a detailed portrait like this of the American workforce. It's not that we're measuring it better, it's that we're measuring it for the first time.
