Backed by Mayo Clinic, Nutrix's hardware monitors worker stress | TechCrunch
Briefly

Workplace stress significantly impacts employers, costing over $300 billion annually due to various factors such as absenteeism and medical costs. Cortisol measurement is key, tied to mental and metabolic health. Nutrix's new device, CortiSense, won the CES Innovation Award 2025 for its role in tracking cortisol levels, providing convenience by allowing users to measure at home. With backing from Swiss innovation agencies and a strong investment round, Nutrix aims to connect cortisol management with chronic disease monitoring through its gSense digital health platform.
By the end of the day, we should have the lowest levels of cortisol," says Nutrix CEO Maria Hahn. "Cortisol is a hormone that controls many other hormones."
Providing patients with a device instead of having them go to a clinic isn't just more convenient; it also allows for tracking cortisol levels right after waking up.
This vision helped Nutrix gain support from Swiss innovation agency, Innosuisse, as well as private investment. The startup raised $4 million to date.
Cortisol is a hormone that controls many other hormones, so it plays an important role in mental health, but also metabolic health.
