In Fall 2024, architects collaborated on a calligraphy brand's commercial space in Changsha, characterized by a remarkable green roof and a grand entrance. The store's design draws customers in with a vibrant interior that mirrors traditional Chinese artistry through abstract facades. The display employs grid-like units to showcase various calligraphy products, resembling a living artwork. Additionally, a unique signage system using 'palace lights' aids navigation, while the predominant green color scheme and thoughtful materials establish a cohesive aesthetic that celebrates Chinese cultural heritage.
The storefront captivates with its massive green roof, an attention-grabbing canopy that creates an inviting ambiance, complemented by a towering door header adorned with green gilded tiles.
Inside, the space unfolds into a vibrant interior that cleverly utilizes abstract design elements to reflect traditional Chinese artistic philosophies, enhancing the customer experience.
The smaller display units, likened to 'pixels', organize a dynamic layout that merges various calligraphy products into an exquisite visual representation of Chinese painting.
A harmonious blend of green hues and carefully chosen materials creates a thematic consistency throughout the store, showcasing products while paying homage to cultural traditions.
