POV: Designers need to think more like ecologists
Briefly

Graphic design and illustration are being influenced by the natural world, leading to projects inspired by nature. However, this aesthetic is also sometimes used for greenwashing purposes.
Companion-Platform, an independent creative studio, approaches projects like ecologists, considering the environment and socio-cultural contexts. They prioritize understanding where a project fits, resonates, and what it can acknowledge or direct attention towards in its environment.
Lexi and Calvin from Companion-Platform embody their design philosophy by immersing themselves in nature, ensuring continuity between their time spent outdoors and inside the studio. They engage in outdoor activities like gardening, birdwatching, and trail running.
