Julija Panova is a Rotterdam-based illustrator whose work draws from her Lithuanian-Russian heritage, creating a unique perspective shaped by growing up between cultures. Her artistic practice explores folklore, quietude, and imagery suspended between past and present. Trained at the Royal Academy of Art (KABK) in The Hague with expertise in book design and printmaking, Panova works primarily in digital media. She recreates the tactile and atmospheric qualities of traditional graphite and printmaking through meticulous hatching and subtle tonal gradients. Panova was selected for the 2025 Booooooom Illustration Awards longlist, participating in a comprehensive collection featuring over 60 artists across 276 pages.
