Maciek Łazowski shifted from 2D illustrations to 3D art after discovering a growing trend of stylized artworks. Initially hesitant about the need for expensive software and powerful computers, he became motivated once he learned about free tools like Blender. His background in 2D art provided direction as he embraced the learning curve, utilizing modifiers and sculpting tools in 3D creation. The process presented challenges he was determined to overcome, finding magic in the capabilities offered by enhanced software tools.
I was never really interested in realistic and semi-realistic-looking 3D, but I've started seeing more and more people create very stylised artworks.
I saw that most people creating in the style I was going for used Cinema 4D... after learning about Blender, I decided to go with it because it was free.
I think my background in 2D illustration gave me a sense of direction. I was not really interested in making realistic cars, so I had to figure out what to learn.
The whole learning process was a huge challenge for me, but discovering the tools felt like magic, especially the sculpting tools.
