Andis Reinbergs, a concept artist based in Hilversum, Netherlands, created a 3D artwork titled 'Summoning' using Blender, focusing less on paintovers for a cinematic feel. His artistic inspiration stems from mysterious locales found in films, books, and games, which he enjoys exploring in his personal projects. The creation process began with pencil sketches, leading to the design of ruins in Adobe Medium for a specific aesthetic. This method allowed for intuitive sculpting in VR, enabling a successful outcome with minimal paintovers, reinforcing his development in 3D modeling techniques.
I've always found old, mysterious and atmospheric locations in films, books and games inspirational, so I often explore such worlds in my personal art.
For Summoning, the goal was to rely less on paintovers and make most of the work in 3D so the scene could be used for cinematic shots.
I made the ruins in Medium by Adobe, as I had a specific look in my mind for the damage on them, and it's a joy to sculpt such elements in VR.
Overall my practice was successful; the shots work with minimal or no paintovers.
