The deal will make Kerr the highest-paid coach in the NBA, surpassing the deal signed earlier this fall by Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra.
Warriors players often credit Kerr with instilling values and winning ways. He won championships with Michael Jordan and under Gregg Popovich with the Spurs.
