""It was a good joke at first, but you can't keep calling me a woman," Green said postgame about the reference to the WNBA star and former LSU player who set several LSU and SEC rebounding records."
""I got four kids, one on the way. You can't keep calling me a woman.""
""He was talking at first," Draymond Green said. "Then you get a little closer and he didn't really say much else. But it's fine. We move on.""
""As long as it doesn't escalate, it's fine (for a player) to go over and have a discussion," Warriors coach Steve Kerr said. "It would have been nice if security had gotten there a little bit earlier.""
The NBA issued a warning, but no fine, to Draymond Green after he confronted a vocal fan in New Orleans who repeatedly chanted "Angel Reese." Green initially laughed but approached the fan during a second-quarter stoppage, saying he could not be repeatedly called a woman and noting he has four children with another on the way. The fan, identified as Sam Green, 35, stood and engaged briefly before official Courtney Kirkland intervened; the fan received a warning and was not ejected. Golden State coach Steve Kerr said a player can approach a fan if it doesn't escalate and noted security response could have been quicker. Green has prior fines in 2022 for incidents involving fans.
