Nightclub bouncer jailed over plot to blackmail Michael Schumacher
Briefly

Yilmaz Tozturkan, a nightclub bouncer, has been sentenced to three years in prison for conspiring to blackmail Michael Schumacher by using stolen private footage. His accomplice, IT expert Daniel Lins, received a six-month suspended sentence, while former bodyguard Markus Fritsche was given a two-year suspended sentence. More than 1,500 sensitive images, videos, and medical records were stolen and threatened to be released unless a $12 million ransom was paid. The Schumacher family’s lawyer expressed concerns over missing material and indicated plans to appeal the lenient sentences.
During the trial, the family expressed concerns that one hard drive containing sensitive material had not been recovered despite repeated searches of the defendants' properties.
Tozturkan, who is in jail on an unrelated crime, told the court: I'm very sorry and ashamed for what I have done. It was a very disgusting thing.
