Benjamin Henrichs experienced a serious injury during his 100th league game with RB Leipzig against Bayern Munich, shocking him deeply due to the severity. Unfamiliar with serious injuries before, Henrichs documented his recovery journey in a film titled 'Faith Over Fear.' The injury impacted his routine, offering him the chance to enjoy personal milestones like birthday parties. Training at Red Bull's Athlete Performance Centre in Salzburg allowed him to stay motivated by engaging with other athletes during his recovery, marking a contrast to his past football routine.
I heard it and that's something I've never experienced before. I was able to move my toes so I thought, OK, it's not that bad.
Not having football was a shock to the system, too, with Henrichs able to partake in birthday parties for the first time in his career.
The advantage of APC is that you see athletes from Red Bull, so I was training with other sportsmen which helped keep my focus fresh.
Now, sitting down with FourFourTwo, he tells us that he underrated quite how serious the injury was.
