Wrightbus has recently delivered twelve fuel cell buses to the German carrier WestVerkehr GmbH, which will operate the Kite Hydroliner FCEV in Germany. This delivery increases the total of battery-electric hydrogen buses in Germany to 43, with projections of reaching 130 by 2025. Additionally, Wrightbus has established a European service center in Brühl, aimed at developing a comprehensive service network on the continent. The buses promise an eco-friendly transport solution, aligning with regulations and commitments to sustainable mobility.
"By participating in this project, WestVerkehr is emphasising its commitment to environmentally friendly, future-oriented mobility. Together with the partners in the H2HS consortium, we are actively driving forward the transformation of local public transport - innovative, emission-free and close to people."
"There will be around 130 by the end of 2025," announced the CEO of the Wrightbus Group, Jean-Marc Gales.
The Kite Hydroliner FCEV can accommodate up to 90 passengers, and the buses for WestVerkehr meet the high requirements of the VDV and GSR2.
Wrightbus has also opened a European service centre in Brühl near Cologne, marking the first step towards a comprehensive network of service centres on the continent.
