Finally getting the measure of the north | Brief letters

Seven years ago, I wrote to you about the Guardian referring to masts as high as the Shard and suggested comparing tall structures with the Blackpool Tower instead for the benefit of us up north (Letters, 2 March 2016).Last week, an article on the tallest wind turbine in England did just that (Report, 9 February).
