Samsung and Synopsys are working together to fine-tune the manufacturing process for the first 3nm Exynos chip, aiming to maximize yields and enhance chip performance.
The collaboration is in the final phase of designing, known as 'taping out,' where the final chip design is sent to the foundry for mass production line adjustments.
Samsung is set to produce its first high-performance 3nm chip using the Gate All Around process, differentiating it from simpler 3nm chips produced earlier for cryptocurrency mining use.
While uncertain if the first 3nm chip will be in the Galaxy S25 lineup, Samsung's foundries plan to start mass producing the advanced SoC in the coming months for mobile devices or other hardware like the Galaxy Watch7.
