I finally found a wallet tracker that works as well as an AirTag (and it's only $18 now)
Briefly

The SwitchBot Wallet Finder Card, on sale for under $20, offers a reliable tracking option for those prone to losing items. Designed to fit into standard wallets like a credit card, it is thinner than an Apple AirTag and boasts up to three years of battery life. However, its battery is non-replaceable. While the tracker is only compatible with the Apple Find My network, it outperforms many third-party options in reliability and functionality, making it a great choice for users invested in Apple's ecosystem.
Unlike an AirTag, this SwitchBot tracker boasts up to three years of battery life. Instead of a CR2032 replaceable coin battery, the SwitchBot Wallet Tracker Card's battery can't be replaced or recharged, so you'd have to toss it after it dies.
This tracker resembles a thick credit card, so it seamlessly fits any wallet that can fit standard cards. At only 2.5 mm, it's slightly thicker than a coin but much thinner than an Apple AirTag.
