Carys Gilbert is running a 26-mile race on April 27 in memory of her father, Neal, who succumbed to high-grade B-cell CNS lymphoma. Neal received treatment at Queen's Hospital, where he spent considerable time isolated due to his illness. Carys aims to raise funds for the Sky B ward by collecting donations, as she appreciates the care her father received. She has already raised over £4,600, which will help support other cancer patients. The hospital charity praised her inspiring effort, emphasizing the importance of her fundraising for patient support.
Carys said: "I want to help out where I can and my dad's care was very good, so I'm raising money to give something back."
