Mercury Rising will perform 'Rise to Care' at Bay Street Tavern on August 24 from 4 to 8 p.m. to benefit the Global Medical Relief Fund. The group, known for its mix of classic rock, blues, and original music, took July off to prepare new songs. Lead vocalist Elissa Montanti, also the charity's founder, emphasizes the importance of music in her life and its role in supporting children affected by war and disasters. Bay Street Tavern, their venue, has become a music scene hub following other local venue closures.
Montanti stated, "The name of the benefit, 'Rise to Care,' is the same as the song we wrote. To care breeds hope, hope for the broken children that call out for help, and now more than ever with war raging and natural disasters that are becoming the norm. No child deserves to suffer."
Mattera expressed, "Montanti's charity work and all the good things that her band does connect the community, and events like 'Rise to Care' bring people together for a vital cause."
