The European Judicial Organised Crime Network's first priority is tackling drug-related crime, as drug trafficking cases at Eurojust have doubled since 2020.
Evi Franco emphasized that only through closer cooperation can authorities combat major drug trafficking, money laundering, and human trafficking effectively.
Eurojust stated that a transnational approach is essential to address the estimated 139 billion euros in illicit profits generated by organized crime each year.
In 2023, Eurojust worked on nearly 2,500 drug-related cases, leading to drug seizures valued over 25 billion euros.
