The design-focused Birley Bakery, the London patisserie from Robin Birley, has opened its first U.S. location at 20 East 69th Street, off Madison Avenue on the Upper East Side, in August. Led by maître pâtissier Vincent Zanardi, the bakery brings a savory Cravat pastry and raspberry tarte Tropézienne, plus breads, chocolates, and its signature 80 percent bitter chocolate ice cream. The two-story space features a chocolate shop and cafe with 25 seats, serving breakfast, lunch, and an all-day menu alongside espresso drinks and specialty teas.
