Recent endless rainstorms and king tides caused power outages and local disruption, followed by clear blue skies and crisp air. Fortuna the cat basked in a sunbath while walks resumed and anticipation grew for Dungeness crab season. Family celebrations included an 85th birthday featuring pasta al forno Calabrese with hard‑boiled egg, provola, soppressata, and polpettine, plus leftovers shared among eleven people. The Vigilia Feast of the Seven Fishes featured fried calamari and convivial cooking at a garage workbench. Concerts and outings included RuPaul at The Midway, Lightscape at the Botanical Garden, and a rainy but joyful New Year’s Eve at the Phoenix Hotel.
