The Federal, an upscale seafood and steak restaurant in Waltham, has closed after seven years of operation. The restaurant, known for its seafood and chophouse offerings, cited rising costs and economic challenges as reasons for its closure. Managing partner Richard Brackett previously expressed hope that a nearby development would attract more customers. The restaurant thanked its patrons for their support and confirmed that its sister property, Stazione di Federal, will continue to operate and honor gift cards.
