"This wasn't an easy choice,"
"We truly tried to find a path forward, but sometimes, despite best efforts, things don't work out."
"We carry with us wonderful memories and deep appreciation in our hearts. Thank you for being part of our story,"
Off the Rails closed indefinitely, with its final day on Jan. 10. The two-story brewpub near the Sunnyvale Caltrain station hosted trivia nights, concert series, game day watch parties, community fundraisers, jigsaw puzzling races, and chess competitions. The operation combined home brewer and financial consultant Saurabh Dwivedi, who wrote recipes, with brewmaster Saul Ramirez, who brewed them. The taproom offered about a dozen beers on tap and a full menu including burgers, sandwiches, salads, and pizza. Attempts to find a path forward were unsuccessful, and the team expressed deep appreciation and carried wonderful memories for patrons. The closure removes a notable gathering space for Sunnyvale residents and commuters.
