Briefly

Orion by Alex Webb offers new culinary sensations in London's Wimbledon Village.
"Bringing his experience of working in some of the best West End restaurants, including time with Helene Darroze at The Connaught, classically trained, Master Chef The Professionals Winner, Alex Webb has opened his first restaurant, creating a relaxed dining experience equally suited to celebration or snacking. With a fresh, contemporary ambience, Orion is designed to attract drop-in business to the bar area for signature cocktails and snacks"
"Caught up with the atmosphere, we ordered cocktails and were very pleased we did. Orion's Bloody Good Mary was divine, with a spiced tomato consomme creating a light, refreshing drink which could potentially be drunk by the pitcher on a warm summer's day. My guest's Smoked Old Fashion was warming with hints of apple and citrus and was served theatrically in a smoke-filled cloche. Alongside, we enjoyed an amuse-bouche of cheesy doughnuts served with a 24-month aged compte sauce."
Alex Webb has opened Orion, a relaxed British/French sharing-style restaurant focused on seafood, with a contemporary ambience, bar, seafood counter, open kitchen and private dining area. The menu emphasizes seasonal British produce with local sourcing: meat from Wimbledon’s local butcher, fish from Cornwall, and scallops from Orkney when weather allows. Offerings include a fish of the day, fish and meat plates to share, mains, sides and small plates. Signature cocktails feature a spiced Bloody Good Mary and a theatrical Smoked Old Fashion served under a smoke-filled cloche. Small plates and an amuse-bouche of cheesy doughnuts with 24-month aged compte sauce showcase confident flavours.
