"Khan Saab is a very well known establishment so we decided to convert that into Khan Saab and continue that Pakistani heritage and Indian heritage into one brand,"
Imran Ali Mookhi transformed SHOR Bazaar in Hawaiian Gardens into Khan Saab Desi Craft Kitchen about a year after opening to bring all restaurants under one identity. Khan Saab began in Fullerton in 2020 and received Michelin Bib Gourmand recognition for five consecutive years. The rebranded Hawaiian Gardens location centers on subcontinental street food spanning Pakistani, Indian, and Afghan flavors. Signature additions include the Sloppy Khan—Wagyu chopped and spiced with gun-powder dust—and the Smoked Beef Kabob—top sirloin marinated twelve hours and charcoal smoked at the table, served with yogurt, garlic, shallots, and mustard oil. The conversion aims to expand reach into Los Angeles County while preserving heritage.
