"After finding that their regional Iranian and Iraqi food wasn't well represented in London, and after they couldn't manage hosting any more of their friends for their food, couple Farsin and Ziad turned their passion for cooking into a supper club. Running for over a year in east London, Logma became so popular that the pair have now been able to take it permanent and are opening Logma Cafe Bistro in Hackney in January."
"Open five days a week, Logma Cafe Bistro will serve a seasonal menu making use of local and organic produce where possible. The menu will change often but you can expect the likes of kofte and aubergine sandwiches, stews with saffron rice, morning pastries, and proper Middle Eastern coffee and tea - they'll be introducing a samovar to serve the latter. One night a week, the duo will be opening later to serve a set menu in the same vein as the supper clubs."
"Logma Cafe Bistro doesn't officially open until late January but it's soft launching now (Farsin and Ziad opened on 21st December to mark Yalda, the longest night of the year). We've had a sneak peek of the menu, which included fesenjan, a chicken walnut stew; tahini buns; and a showstopper kofta pita filled with herby patties, tomato sauce, pickles, tahini and crispy garlic, and we'll defo be back for more in the new year."
Farsin Rabiee and Ziad Halub transformed a popular east London supper club into a permanent café-bistro in Hackney to showcase regional Iranian and Iraqi cuisine. The venue is modelled on retro French bistros that appeared across the Middle East in the early 20th century and aims to recreate home-like warmth and generosity. Open five days a week, the café will offer a seasonal menu using local and organic produce where possible, featuring kofte, aubergine sandwiches, saffron rice stews, morning pastries, and Middle Eastern coffee and tea served via a samovar. One night weekly will offer a later set menu in the supper-club tradition, with a soft launch on 21 December for Yalda.
