Avery Sheppard, at 18, took the initiative to open Purvis Fish & Chips despite her mother's disinterest. After thorough research, she secured funding and established a successful restaurant that has generated nearly $1.5 million in net revenue over five years. Currently a master's student in hospitality management, Sheppard won $25,000 in a business plan competition. She aims to expand her business by opening additional locations in Ontario and has already diversified by adding an ice cream shop to her restaurant.
