Fans lined up at 7 a.m. for Villa's Tacos after Super Bowl appearance
""Tití Me Preguntó""
""WHEN I SAY VILLA'S, YOU SAY TACOS.""
""an honor at the highest level.""
Fans flooded the Highland Park Villa's Tacos after the taquero made a surprise Super Bowl appearance, forming a line down the strip mall and drawing TV-news trucks. Cars circled the parking lot and some double-parked in front of red curbs. One fan waited from 7 a.m. for the restaurant's noon opening. Patrons arrived with pets and infants and wore Villa's or Bad Bunny merchandise while waiting for tacos made with fresh handmade blue-corn tortillas, grilled meats, pickled onions and house-made salsas. Bad Bunny's "Tití Me Preguntó" played as halftime clips repeated while founder Victor Villa danced behind a branded puesto, greeted reporters, led a call-and-response cheer, fist-bumped customers and called the experience "an honor at the highest level." Villa said he received a December call inviting him to participate and guessed Bad Bunny learned of the restaurant either as a fan or via Villa's viral social media presence.
