During Times of Crisis, Restaurants Are Always the First to Give Back
Briefly

After the devastating Eaton Fire impacted the Altadena community in early January, chefs Greg Dulan and Kim Prince, called by World Central Kitchen, prepared to serve comforting meals to displaced residents. Their food truck offered Southern-style dishes such as jambalaya and fried chicken, aiming to provide solace in a time of loss. While the wildfires destroyed large areas including homes and businesses, the initiatives by local chefs and networks illustrated a profound act of community support and resilience among those affected by the disaster.
These families have already experienced enough transition and displacement by losing their home; least we can offer is a stationed area where they can get meals that they are familiar with - a diet that they understand.
In the midst of tragedy, chefs, restaurants, business owners, and organizations mobilized together to provide relief and nourishment to affected communities.
Within a day, World Central Kitchen helped to mobilize a cohort of Los Angeles-based chefs to serve residents impacted by the fires.
Dulan and Prince’s menu of old-school, Southern-style comfort food nourished a community in deep, unfathomable pain.
