Chateau Royale Is Full of New York French Glam
"Restaurateur Cody Pruitt of hit West Village restaurant Libertine opened Chateau Royale in Greenwich Village, a new modern French restaurant with old-world glam. The first-floor bar offers a more relaxed experience, but upstairs in the proper dining room is where you go to feel special: a high-end environment with corresponding prices. Pruitt took cues from iconic NYC French restaurants for the design, incorporating velvet banquettes, white tablecloths, and blank walls for a little minimalism."
"Duck à l'orange: The classic French dish of sliced crisp-skinned duck breast is jazzed up with a savory citrus sauce made of calamansi (the Southeast Asian lime), bergamot, and blood oranges. Entrees in the dining room start at around $40. Filet au poivre: The simple cut of a small yet substantial steak is seasoned with a lot of pepper and plated atop a classic au poivre sauce. Order fries so you can dip them into the steak sauce."
