"“We have s-for f- poor people, right?”"
"“Who buys our s-? I don't buy...Campbell's products barely anymore.”"
"“It's not healthy. Now that I know what's...in it. Even in a can of soup I look at it, look at it. Bioengineered meat. I don't want to eat....a piece of chicken that came from a 3D printer. Do you?”"
"“The chicken meat in our soups comes from long-trusted, USDA-approved U.S. suppliers and meets our high-quality standards. All our soups are made with No Antibiotics Ever chicken meat,”"
A recording captured a vice president and chief information security officer making an expletive-laced tirade in which he called customers "poor," criticized Campbell's products and ingredients, and allegedly made racist remarks about Indian coworkers. The recording included statements about "bioengineered meat" and a claim that he avoided Campbell's products. Campbell's confirmed the voice, terminated the executive, and apologized for the hurt caused, calling the comments vulgar, offensive and false. The company defended product quality, saying soup chicken comes from USDA-approved U.S. suppliers and uses No Antibiotics Ever chicken meat. Campbell's stock has edged down recently.
