""That was a bloodbath, how much money we lost," Fox said. "It was an ungodly amount of money. It was that bad.""
""felt like the nail in the coffin,""
""the friendliest, kindest restaurant in town.""
Birdie G's will close Dec. 31 after sustained economic setbacks and a catastrophic revenue drop following the January Palisades fire. The restaurant experienced an estimated 80% revenue decline in the weeks after the blaze, creating operational and staffing uncertainty. Long-term pressures included pandemic fallout, inflation, entertainment-industry strikes, the restaurant's location, and its sizable footprint. Birdie G's opened in June 2019 by chef-owner Jeremy Fox with partners Josh Loeb and Zoe Nathan, offering Midwestern, Jewish, and Californian-inspired approachable cuisine using seasonal ingredients. The restaurant will feature specials, guest chefs, and experimentation through year-end before closing.
