Acru opened in October 2024 at 79 MacDougal Street in Greenwich Village and closed sometime over the summer after nine months of operation. The restaurant’s website has been removed and its Instagram account has not been updated since mid-July. A representative said the team is immensely proud of what they created, are grateful to staff, guests, and community, and that the group will share more soon about plans for the MacDougal Street space. Chef and partner Daniel Garwood, a Tasmanian and former Atomix sous chef, offered a $95 tasting menu focused on Australian cuisine with Korean and Scandinavian touches. Garwood received a James Beard semifinalist nomination. The parent company Na:Eun Hospitality also operates Naro and Seoul Salon.
