Alleva Dairy closed its Little Italy location after more than 130 years amid financial struggles and court battles. Karen King, widow of John "Cha Cha" Ciarcia and now sole owner of the brand, is opening a new Alleva Dairy inside Chelsea Market, likely in late winter. Chef Danny Paolucci will lead the culinary vision for the new spot. The Chelsea Market location will offer classic hot and cold Italian sandwiches, homemade dishes like eggplant and chicken parmigiana, stuffed artichokes, cured meats, and desserts including tiramisu and cannolis, preserving Alleva's family-centered recipes.
