"The Pencil Factory, a longtime Greenpoint dive bar, will reopen later this year under new owners Tony Ismail and David Doyle, according to Brooklyn Magazine. "A gigantic 3,901-square-foot Sweetgreen is set to open its 22nd New York City location on Tuesday, September 23, at 167 Orchard Street, near Stanton Street, on the Lower East Side, per a spokesperson. On opening day, the first 100 customers between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. will receive giveaways like flowers from PlantShed, sweets from Lil Sweet Treet, and totes from PiccoliNY. For every meal purchased on that day, Sweetgreen will donate a meal to the Door, a nonprofit that supports New York City youth experiencing food insecurity."
"Danny Emerman and chef Jamie Kenyon, the team behind Chelsea's Bottino, are unveiling their second spot, 'Ino, an Italian restaurant and wine bar, at 31 East 20th Street, at Park Avenue South. Due to open on Friday, September 26th, the 60-seat room with an eight-seat marble bar will serve brunch, lunch, and dinner, along with an aperitivo hour. Look for dishes like sweetbreads, agnolotti with braised beef cheek, and black bass with horseradish and peperonata."
