"The resulting sex scenes feel weirdly both cynical and naive: not quite sexy enough to count as softcore erotica, nor real enough to be in any way plausible as drama."
"There are one or two interesting moments: including an intriguing discussion of the idea that Tinder is anti-love and in fact just promotes addiction to the app."
Chloe Robichaud's film is a remake of the 1970 French-Canadian sex comedy Deux Femmes en Or. The story follows two unsatisfied women, Florence and Violette, living in a bland suburban condo. Violette's husband is unfaithful, while Florence is unhappy in her relationship. They become friends and engage in sexual encounters with men who come to their apartments. The film's sex scenes lack both eroticism and dramatic plausibility. It includes a discussion on Tinder's negative impact on love, but overall, the film is considered tiring and mediocre.
