Rachel Zegler had 'no idea' she was auditioning for 'Snow White' that led to yearslong drama
Briefly

Rachel Zegler shared insights into her audition for Disney's 'Snow White' on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!'. She revealed that she was cast before her performance in 'West Side Story', thanks to a glowing recommendation from Steven Spielberg. Zegler described the audition as secretive, with scripts labeled 'Untitled Disney live-action film.' She also noted the challenges of performing alongside CGI characters, emphasizing that filming requires multiple versions of each scene to create emotional connections with both humans and animated figures.
I actually got a really glowing recommendation from Steven Spielberg to Marc Webb, who directed 'Snow White.' And I also got a text from Steven kind of alluding to the fact that I had gotten the part before I found out.
With all these Disney things, it's like Marvel, Star Wars, Disney live-actions, you have no idea what you're reading. It'll say like, 'Untitled Disney live-action film,' and the sides will have different names.
It's amazingly rewarding when you see it and you complete it to say this is the thing that we did. But you basically do three different versions of every scene.
