"Yoo Capital (the same folk behind west London's Olympia) has submitted plans to Camden Council to build what is essentially going to be the UK's answer to Hollywood. In the £1 billion proposal, the real-estate investment firm wants to transform under-used industrial land in Kentish Town into a purpose-built district for film production, with homes, green spaces and education facilities."
"At the moment, the plan wants to provide around 500 new homes (50 percent of which will be affordable), 11 state of the art film and television studios, new creative workspaces, public parks, and education facilities in partnership with the National Film and Television School (NFTS) and the London Screen Academy (LSA). The film studios, designed by Camden based architects SPPARC and to be managed and operated by Oxygen Studios, will introduce a 'pioneering' vertical studio model that will allow production stages to stack efficiently, maximising the limited urban space."
Yoo Capital has submitted planning permission to Camden Council for a £1 billion Camden Film Quarter on under-used industrial land in Kentish Town. The proposal includes around 500 new homes, with 50 percent designated as affordable, 11 film and television studios, creative workspaces, public parks, and education facilities partnered with the National Film and Television School and the London Screen Academy. Camden-based architects SPPARC designed the studios, which Oxygen Studios will manage and operate, using a vertical studio model to stack production stages and maximise urban space. Yoo Capital previously developed west London's Olympia and first revealed the project in March 2025, with initial images released alongside the planning submission.
