On April 2, Film Independent and MUBI announced a live reading of "Cruel Intentions," directed by Julio Torres and featuring a star-studded cast including Amy Sedaris and Julia Fox. Set to take place at the Directors Guild of America New York Theatre on April 7, the reading promises a unique take on the original film, with composer Lia Rusli providing live scores. Torres expressed excitement about the project, hinting at a fresh interpretation of the iconic characters and themes from the 1999 classic film.
"I cannot wait to immerse myself in this truly delicious world," Torres said in a statement. "Martine will make Sarah Michelle Gellar proud. Expect a lot of moaning."
