Exclusive: Amanda Seyfried Asked To Cut A Kiss In Her New Movie
Briefly

Amanda Seyfried is enjoying a busy month with two projects premiering: a police thriller on Peacock and a psychological drama. To maintain balance amid fame, she practices regular video check-ins with her children. In her upcoming film, Seven Veils, she portrays a theater director dealing with personal trauma through a turbulent remount of an opera. Seyfried finds her character's struggles relatable, and she emphasizes the importance of choosing who one wants to be creatively. Her experiences, though colorful, show a conscious effort to remain grounded as a parent amidst her acting career.
"People need so much out of you, and you have to decide who you want to be and what you want to create," Seyfried tells Bustle.
The portrait of attempting to balance a creative life is something Seyfried found 'incredibly relatable,' she says, although, of course, 'there's so much that I couldn't relate to.'
Seyfried's character, Jeanine, confronts personal trauma associated with both her mentor and her father, which the violent biblical tragedy brings to the fore.
When discussing remounting productions, Seyfried reflects, 'There are some movies where you just need to leave it alone, and Mamma Mia is not one of them.'
