"The outfit was designed by Robert Wun, whose creations have been worn previously by pop stars such as Beyonce, Cardi B and Ariana Grande. And the inspiration came from reading a bedtime story to her two-year-old daughter. "There was an image of a jellyfish, and when I showed it to her she got so excited," she says. Naomi Osaka entered Rod Laver Arena for her first-round Australian Open match wearing a wide-brimmed hat, veil, flared white trousers and carrying an umbrella. The look drew on jellyfish imagery inspired by a bedtime story shared with her two-year-old daughter. The outfit was designed by Robert Wun with collaboration from Nike and emphasized movement and the fluidity of sheer layers. Osaka stated she wanted to create a memorable, self-authored moment rather than have others define her story. Osaka is seeded 16th at the tournament and has shown signs of resurgence after reaching last year's US Open semi-finals.
