The nostalgic beauty trend of ombré hair is experiencing a revival for spring 2025, thanks in part to stylist Tom Smith's foresight. Originally popular 10 to 15 years ago amidst a soft-grunge aesthetic, ombré has evolved from bold dip-dyed tips into a more subtle, chic look. Smith notes that the trend's roots lie in punk influences, which have transformed into a softer fade rather than sharp contrasts, establishing a new iteration of this iconic style.
Allow me to (re)introduce you to ombré hair, spring 2025's version.
There was definitely that grunge, punk influence in it. We saw really striking bleached ends.
The fade from one shade to another became more gradual, and this is more of what we're seeing now.
Today, the contrast has become even softer.
