Dani Ceballos suffered a grade three ankle sprain during his first La Liga start of the season, jeopardizing his game time for the next two months.
Real Madrid confirmed Ceballos' injury, stating: "Following tests carried out today on our player Dani Ceballos by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a grade three sprain affecting the ligaments in his right ankle."
Italian manager Carlo Ancelotti expressed concerns about the timing of the international break, saying, "The international break is not a good thing. We will lose players. I hope no injuries occur, I want the players to return fit."
Ceballos' absence comes as Madrid faces multiple injuries, giving him a rare opportunity to start, which now may be delayed for up to eight weeks.
