Sprouted onions can be regrown by peeling them down to the roots and separating the shoots. Each shoot can be planted in soil with adequate spacing and sunlight. They are ready for harvest when the bulbs emerge above the soil and the leaves turn yellow or brown, which takes about two to three months.
