Walmart is significantly expanding its drone delivery service, announcing plans to add five cities—Atlanta, Charlotte, Houston, Orlando, and Tampa—and 100 stores for drone deliveries. Currently partnered with Wing, Walmart's service allows customers to select eligible items at checkout and confirm drop-off locations without order minimums or extra fees for Walmart+ members. The company's commitment to drone delivery reflects its strategy to innovate retail and enhance customer service, competing against similar initiatives by companies like DoorDash and Amazon, who have faced challenges in this space.
