Vodafone Idea Limited (VIL) is set to enhance its optical transport network across key regions in India, leveraging Nokia’s optical switching technology. This strategic upgrade will facilitate multi-terabit data growth, support quantum-safe services, and cater to increasing 4G demand while preparing for 5G deployment. The deployment involves advanced products like the 1830 Photonic Service Switch, aiming for network efficiency and flexibility. The project also emphasizes sustainability and cost reduction, demonstrating a commitment to minimizing the carbon footprint during the modernization process.
