Briefly

Vodafone and AST SpaceMobile are establishing a jointly owned satellite service for European mobile network operators (MNOs), enhancing connectivity beyond traditional cellular coverage. This initiative aims for complete geographic coverage across Europe, allowing users to access secure mobile broadband via satellites. The new company, SatCo, will manage ground stations for efficient data communication between MNOs and low Earth orbit satellites, ensuring compliance with European digital sovereignty requirements. The partnership promises a seamless integration of technology and services, ultimately benefiting consumers and boosting competition among mobile operators in Europe.
Vodafone's space-based mobile broadband will mean our customers can stay connected, wherever they are. Our new satellite company will be able to offer this pioneering technology to other European mobile operators through a turnkey service.
Together with Vodafone, we are poised to accelerate our commercialization plans across all of Europe, making true mobile broadband from space a reality.
