The Dutch Operator Fund I, backed by €2mn and major angel investors, aims to fill the investment gap in early-stage tech startups in the Netherlands.
"There is a need for this in our country, because for many institutional investors, investing in this stage is often 'too early,'" said Geert-Jan Smits, highlighting a critical gap in funding.
Investment criteria for the fund include a scalable business model and founding teams of two to four people, preferably with previous entrepreneurial experience.
The fund plans to contribute not just capital but also extensive entrepreneurial experience and a network, enhancing the chances of startup success.
